About The Role

The Receiving-Quality Control Manager is responsible for the overall processing of all freight received and preparing products for loading and integration within our Operations team.  Additionally, they will be responsible for the overall inventory consignment process.

 

A Day in the life of a Receiving/Quality Control Manager:

 

  • Ensure all Receiving associates have the necessary equipment and knowledge to check in, verify, and prep all products received each day
  • Verify pricing on Electronic Purchase Orders (EPO) by creating and utilizing analytical reporting tools
  • Verify all EPO discrepancies and communicate exceptions with Purchasing and Security as needed and help drive successful resolutions
  • Partner with Accounting department to help optimize on hand inventory and the dollar amount of that inventory
  • Ensure all procedures are followed in the freight flow process as referred by SOP
  • Ensure deadlines are met for hedge sheets, discrepancy sheets, and EPO’s processed
  • Address scheduling and staffing needs to handle spikes in receiving’s
  • Utilize/Develop reporting tools within internal system to provide visibility within Quality Control department where improvement/resources need to be focused
  • Identify efficiency gains in the processes of prepping/integrating product as changes in our business occur
  • Develop daily/weekly tasks for each department leader to execute routinely that result in consistent execution of critical business needs
  • Implement cross training initiatives to help create strategic staffing needs
  • Prepare Receiving and Storage vaults for first of the month’s inventory
  • Provide performance feedback to develop receiving associates
  • Prepare and conduct reviews for new associates and annual reviews for all associates
  • Review weekly electronic time cards to approve time for each associate
  • Implement and maintain 5s practices within the Receiving and Storage vaults
  • Develop, document and implement proper procedures for all aspects of the receiving process and ensure compliance
  • Ensure the timely opening and closing of vaults
  • Develop appropriate reporting to show the performance of the team in key areas including accuracy and productivity

  • Complete daily audits on critical tasks and focus on continuous improvement

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor degree required

 

Experience:

  • 2-5 years’ experience in Inventory control & Inventory management or continuous improvement processes
  • Experience in building analytical reporting tools to help provide insight on operational opportunities
  • Experience working with big data (pivot tables & V-Lookups)

 

Computer Skills:

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office; specifically Microsoft Excel
