  • About The Role

This part time program is designed for full time APMEX employees to discover if they have the desire, skills and ambition to pursue a career in numismatics or product management.  In this program, you will learn about the history of US coins and currency, explore some of the most popular coin series collected, how to grade these popular items, determine the value of items we sell and provide an introduction to product management.

Over a 10-11 week program you will be immersed in the world of numismatics, taught how to grade coins and be given periodic tests to see how you are progressing.  Each week you will spend 2-4 hours with Scott Thomas, Mike Garofalo or other experts and learn first-hand from them the skills you need to graduate and become a full-time apprentice working your way to become a Jr. Numismatist or possibly a Jr. Product Manager over time.  Halfway through the program, there will be a mid-term exam where successful candidates will move on to the next phase of the program.

At the conclusion of the program, those who graduate will be offered a numismatic apprenticeship position where they can begin their journey to become a Jr. Numismatist or possibly a Jr. Product Manager.
